Being a music camp, our focus is... Music. Each camp has a unique focus and you can read about each camp here. The camp is also more than just music and includes opportunities for your child to gain confidence and make friends. Above all, the camp is designed to be fun and the highlight of your child’s summer.
My child already plays a musical instrument. Is this camp a good choice for them?
First of all, congratulations on providing your child with a well rounded education and life! Music study has many benefits and by learning to play an instrument, you are taking full advantage of those benefits. If your child is a beginning to intermediate player on an instrument, the camp offers a chance for them to share their skills and participate in group activities with students of similar skill levels.
My child’s only experience with music is general music classes at school. Is this a good choice for them?
The Oregon Music Camp will be a great introduction to a variety of musical instruments, styles, and activities. Not only will it enhance and build upon what they have learned in school, they just might discover a talent and interest in a specific musical instrument that they would like to pursue further.
Do you provide private lessons at the camp?
No. The camp is designed to give your child an opportunity to make music in a group with other children their age and ability level. Private music lessons can be scheduled during the summer and school year by contacting the Oregon Music Academy.
